The talk will be an introduction to conservation first-aid in the field. We will look at different archaeological objects and how their materials and their environment have impacted their rate of degradation. We will look at the basics of material identification and what we can do (and what we shouldn’t do) in the field to arrest degradation prior to conservation treatment.
